Application Process
- Take a tour of UPNS. Please call (310) 397-2735 to make an appointment.
- Submit a completed Application. You may fill out the form here: UPNS Application and submit. Your application process is not complete until UPNS receives your $50.00 (non-refundable) application fee. We are currently taking checks, cash or electronically via Zelle by using our email address upns@ucla.edu
- Receive phone notification of acceptance. When your child is accepted to UPNS, you will be notified by phone. Within one (1) week of the day you were notified, you must notify UPNS of your intent to enroll or your child will be removed from the application process. Within two (2) weeks of the day that you were notified, you must fill out the enrollment forms through Kindertales and pay the non-refundable enrollment fee of $500. If you fail to enroll within the two week period, another child from the waiting list will be given the space.Parents also have the option of declining a position and remaining on the waiting list.
Waiting List
All our programs have a waiting list. As vacancies occur, they will be filled in order down the waiting list. Your child’s position on the waiting list is dependent upon two factors: (1) when you applied, and (2) the date your child is ready to start. Your child’s position on the waiting list may move up or down based on these factors. To place your child’s name on the waiting list, please fill out the UPNS Application Form and submit the $50 non-refundable application fee. Potty Training
All rooms are equipped to handle children who are potty trained.
The Kitten Room (for 18 months – 2 year olds) is the only room that can accommodate children who are still in diapers. Potty training is NOT required to enroll in the Kitten Room. If your child is not yet potty trained, the teachers in the Kitten Room will work with you to potty train your child when your child is ready. Potty training IS required for all other classrooms. The Kangaroo and Dolphin rooms are not equipped to change diapers.
Older children who wish to enroll in UPNS, but are not yet potty trained, will be offered a spot in the Kitten Room. Once they are potty trained, they can move into the appropriate class for their age, pending space available.
